In the second half of 2010, a third version of Kesha's "Take It Off video" was released through Kesha's official website. Its inspiration came from Kesha's actual dating life, the video shows how Kesha and her friends end up at a hotel with the people they like, and at the end they all transform into a beautiful swarm of stars. The song, according to Kesha, was based on a friend. When asked if it was based on a situation in her life, she said: "No. I got inspired from when I went through this a couple months ago. I went on a date that really didn't go correctly and I had this moment of pure freedom that I was in. It was such a stupid thing, but it kind of sparked something in me and that's all I wanted to do".[39]
The video premiered through Kesha's official website on October 22 2010. The video features Kesha and her friends taking off their clothes, as she sings into the camera; as the video progresses, Kesha and her friends get dressed up in new clothes for the next part of the video. Kesha and her friends recycle in the video, the video shows the need for recycling as the camera goes through the actress recycling wearing a different outfit. The video also includes a throwback of Kesha's first video for the song. Kesha's writing credits are noted in the beginning of the video. The video received positive reviews from critics, many praising the message behind the video implying that if you can do all that with love, then anyone can, especially if they are all surrounded by people that love them. Kesha was met with her single's success ever since the release of the video and subsequent tour. The video was viewed more than 100 million times on YouTube by November of 2010. Kesha released her debut album Warrior, which included this song as well as other songs from the album, in November 2010. Kesha performed the album's title track, first single "We R Who We R" and the second single "Take It Off" in its entirety at the 2010 SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE performance, along with "We R Who We R" and "Take It Off" at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, and later at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards.
